Die anarchistische Antikriegsbewegung in den 90er Jahren in Kroatien war der Versuch, sich gegen die Kriegstreiberei der Nationalstaaten zu wehren. Anarchistische Gruppen gaben Informationsmaterial heraus, sie hielten solidarische Verbindungen nach Serbien, unterstützten Kriegsdienstverweigerer und halfen beim Wiederaufbau von zerstörten Häusern. Angesichts der linken Diskussion um den Ukrainekrieg halten wir den Text für ein wichtiges Zeitzeugnis gegen Krieg und Nationalismus.

Über Kapitalismus lässt sich im Singular und im Plural nachdenken. Dieser Band wählt den zweiten Weg und vertritt die These, dass es den Kapitalismus nicht gibt, sondern vielmehr zahlreiche Kapitalismustypen: »Koordinierten« Kapitalismus (in Deutschland und Kontinentaleuropa), »Liberalen« (in Nordamerika), »Abhängigen« (in Osteuropa), »Konglomerat-Kapitalismus« (in Lateinamerika), »Netzwerk-Kapitalismus« (in Japan und Ostasien) und »Staatskapitalismus« (u.a. in China). Zunächst geht es darum, was Kapitalismus (im Singular!) überhaupt ist, wann und warum er entstanden ist und was kapitalistische Systeme von anderen Wirtschaftssystemen unterscheidet. Anschließend stellt der Band die unterschiedlichen Kapitalismustypen (im Plural) vor und erklärt ihre inneren Wirkweisen, politischen Ursachen und Konsequenzen – z.B. für Ungleichheit und die Lebenswirklichkeit der Menschen. Im letzten Kapitel diskutiert der Band Herausforderungen des und Alternativen zum Kapitalismus.

Vom Sklavenwiderstand bis zum Jiu-Jitsu der Suffragetten, vom Aufstand im Warschauer Ghetto bis zu den Black Panther und den Queer-Patrouillen zeichnet Elsa Dorlin in ihrem preisgekrönten Buch eine Genealogie der politischen Selbstverteidigung nach. By the end of the nineteenth century, the general Western conception of work had been reduced to simply gainful employment. Die Polizei setzt gesellschaftliche Ordnungsvorstellungen durch. Dabei formt und ordnet sie Gesellschaft mit Gewalt. Die Frage nach der Gewalt ist aber mit jener nach Gerechtigkeit verbunden. Je mehr die sozialen Umstände sich zuspitzen desto dringlicher wird diese Frage. Wie unumstößlich ist die Vorstellung, dass wir eine Form von Gewalt brauchen, um in Gerechtigkeit zu leben? Woher kommt die Idee der gesellschaftlichen Notwendigkeit einer Polizei? Alissa Starodub analysiert, wie und warum die Polizei entstanden ist – um sich mit ihr auf einer theoretischen, politischen und praktischen Ebene auseinanderzusetzen.

Was ist Ökosozialismus? Er ist eine Strömung der Reflexion und der ökologischen Aktion, die sich die grundlegenden Errungenschaften des Marxismus zu eigen macht und diese gleichzeitig von ihren produktivistischen Schlacken befreit. Die kapitalistische Markt- und Profitlogik wie auch der bürokratische Autoritarismus nach Machart des »realen Sozialismus« sind mit den Anforderungen des Umweltschutzes unvereinbar. Die ÖkosozialistInnen kritisieren die gegenwärtigen Verkürzungen der politischen Ökologie, welche die Macht des Kapitals nicht infrage stellen.
