Malatestas Schrift „Anarchie“ erschien erstmals 1909 in deutsch und ist bis heute die einzige größere Arbeit geblieben, die übersetzt worden ist. Sie ist keine prophetische Beschreibung einer zukünftigen Gesellschaft, kein Programmentwurf, kein Manifest und auch keine banale Gebrauchsanweisung oder eine Lebenshilfe für politische Fragen.
